Soda-semichemical pulps were prepared from Eupatorium odoratum with different concentrations of caustic soda and then giving one refiner pass at 5 mils. Standard sheets were prepared after heating and were tested for strength properties in each case. It was found tbat cooking by 6% NaOH and subsequent refining at 5 mils could give a pulp of 60% yield with adequate strength properties required for cheap grade packing papers.- Delignification of Refiner Mechanical Pulp from Albizia lebbek by Soda Process

Studies on delignification of refiner-mechanical pulps from Albizia lebbek by soda process were carried out to prepare high yield pulps (yield 50% - 60%) having strength properties better or equivalent to conventional chemical pulps (yield 40% - 45%).It was found out that delignification of refiner mechanical pulp from Albizia lebbek by 8% NaOH could give high yield pulp (yield 56%) having the strength properties almost equal to soda chemical pulp of 45% yield.- Delignification of Refiner Mechanical Pulps from Albizia lebbek and Eucalyplus Hybrid by Sulphate Process

The present paper gives an account of the results obtained on delignification of refiner oechanical pulps from Albizia lebbek and Eucalyptus hybrid by sulphate process. It was found but that delignification of refiner mechanical pulps by 8% chemicals (NaOH+Na2S) could live high yield pulps (yield 60%) having the strength properties almost equal to kraft pulp of 15% yield. It was also observed that the results obtained by delignified sulphate pulps are letter than the corresponding delignified soda pulps and the results of delignified sulpbate pulps are nearer to kraft pulps.- Production of Chemical, Mechanical and Semi-chemical Pulps from Clones of Populus deltoides

Poplar clones of Populus deltoides namely G3, 72/58, 61/183 grown in Lal Kuan (Haldwani Division) and IC, 69/55 and 65/27 grown in both Clutterbuckganj (Barel illy) and Lal KUan (Haldwani) have been evaluated as pulp making raW materials for chemical, mechanical and semi-chemical pulping. It is observed that locality effects the yield as well as properties. Different clones have different suitability indices as compared to IC grown in Lal Kuan (Haldwani), when chemical pulps were prepared from different Samples. Pilot plant trials show that pulps from P. deltoides is suitable production of wrapping paper.- Newsprint Grade Groundwood Pulps from Acer campbellii (Maple)
